Szomorúan, megtört szívvel tudatom,

hogy a mi kedves és mindannyiunk által szeretett elnökünk,

Tischler Hugó elhunyt.

A magyar közösségünk összetartója,

a Daytona Beach-i Amerikai Magyar Klub elnöke volt

több mint tizenkét éve.

Gyászolják:

szerető felesége, Marika, fia, Gábor,
menye, keresztlányuk, két unoka fiuk,
két dédunokájuk és az egész magyar közösség..

Halála nagy betöltetlen űrt hagyott maga után.

Hugo Tischler was born in France but raised in Hungary. He was drafted into the military in 1954. During the revolution of 1956, he married and became a leader of a small group of freedom fighters. A sudden ankle injury prevented the young couple to escape from the country after the uprising's defeat.

He avoided the wrath of the communists because they did not discover Tischler's active participation in the revolution. In 1971, Tischler and his wife were able to leave Hungary for the United States. He owned the Hungarian Village restaurant in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he was also the president of the Hungarian Club.

Hugo was a member of the American Hungarian Federation.
